The Art of Riding Classroom
Learn with kindness, clarity and good structure — so your horse stays motivated, and the work makes sense.
The Classroom is my safe learning space online, where you can look over my shoulder as I train and teach, and where you can build real foundations in your own time. Not sure where to begin?
If you're worried the Classroom might be "too much content", this is what I would like you to know. You don't have to do everything. I recommend starting with what you feel drawn to and letting your horse guide the pace.
Here are some simple first steps you can take:

Start with Connection
Choose some short videos of modules 1 (Connect to Yourself) or 2 (Connect to your horse) that help relaxation, focus and feel.

Build your Foundation on the Ground
Begin with basic handling and groundwork as a basis for ridden work or longe work.

See what Inspires you Next
Once you have a basic groundwork foundation, just continue with what feels natural for you and your horse.
The 9 Classroom Modules
Follow the modules in order, or jump to what you need most right now. Some modules are more developed than others, and new content is added monthly.
Module 1 - Connect to Yourself
Calm focus, emotions, inner pictures, and being present with your horse.
Horses are highly sensitive to our inner state — thoughts, emotions, and focus. In this module you'll learn simple ways to become calmer, clearer, and more present, so your aids become more consistent and your horse can relax and trust the conversation. (Mindfulness exercises and meditations are being added over time.)
Module 2 - Connect to Your Horse
Empathy, relaxation and focus, ethical equipment, connection in training.
Connection is built through empathy, clarity, and training that makes sense to the horse. This module explores relaxation and focus, ethical choices around equipment, and the "space between us" — so your horse feels seen, heard, and motivated to stay with you in the work.
Module 3 - Basic Handling
Leading training, consent, daily skills that make everything else possible.
Before dressage exercises, daily handling needs to be soft and stress-free - leading, grooming, hooves, tying, and haltering. You'll learn practical tools for calm, clear handling, including leading with distance and building consent, so your everyday interactions become a foundation for everything that follows.
Module 4 - Groundwork
Dressage basics from the ground - bending, side movements, collection foundations.
This is where you and your horse learn the basic (and later advanced) dressage exercises from the ground. You'll work through bending, circles, shoulder-in and quarter-in, and learn how to teach the groundwork aids with clarity — then progress toward more advanced work like half-pass, pirouette, and collection over time.
Module 5 - Longe Work
Refine communication through body language; balance and strength on the circle
In longe work we have less direct influence, so communication becomes more refined—through body language, energy, and timing. This module shows you how to get started, establish a clear frame of aids, and develop correct bend and lateral influence on the circle, with a pathway toward more collected work later on.
Module 6 - Riding
Academic seat, soft secondary aids, riding basics and first side movements.
In the Academic Art of Riding, the seat is the primary aid—and everything else becomes quieter when the seat is understood. This module guides you through the academic seat, soft secondary aids, and the first ridden exercises, so riding begins to feel more like harmony than “more leg and more hand.”
Module 7 - Work in Hand
Refine aids, develop the side movements in hand, introduce collection.
Work in hand helps you refine rein aids and introduce more collected work without the rider’s weight. You’ll learn tools, positions, and basic exercises, then progress toward developing collection, shoulder-in, and the first steps toward piaffe in hand—always based on the horse’s readiness.
Module 8 - Liberty
Liberty as a state of mind: training without coercion and with free will.
For me, liberty is more than working without equipment—it’s a state of mind and a promise to avoid coercion. This module explores how liberty can support connection, motivation, and clarity, and how it can complement (or sometimes replace) other ways of working, depending on the horse. (This module is growing.)
Module 9 - Understanding Horses
Biomechanics, learning, nervous system, stress and relaxation.
Good training becomes easier when you understand how the horse's senses work, how they learn, and respond to stress. In this module you’ll find lessons on biomechanics (like natural asymmetry and the elements of dressage), the nervous system, and learning theory—content designed to support every other module.
If you want dressage that feels light, respectful, and clear, you’re in the right place. Become a member and build foundations that keep your horse willing and the work honest.

You're Not Alone in This
The Classroom is more than a video library. It’s a place for riders who care about kindness and correctness to learn together—without feeling judged. If you have questions as you work through the modules, you can ask them in the private Facebook group, and I answer personally.
Many riders join because they want a place where kindness and ethics are normal—where the horse’s “yes” and “no” matters, and where learning feels safe. The Classroom has members from over 25 countries already!

Testimonials
You are helping a lot of us to find our way. When I started to watch your videos, a big change started in me. You helped me reconnect with that little girl I was when I started riding. Now I remember her dreams and way of thinking. Thank you for that! For showing us, who are open and interested, that it is possible to be with horses, connect with them, learn and teach them how you do.
Eszter, Hungary
I'm so glad I get to be a part of the classroom. Without it, I would be lost with where to go in our training. Thank you for putting it out into the world!
Jess, Australia
Such an amazing course. Bettina’s eye for detail is extraordinary – but she never overwhelms, just kindly – and patiently! – gives the important next part of the puzzle. As Bettina is adding to the library of information regularly – she also has Q and A zoom meetings where you get together with the community and talk about all sorts of queries, there is always something to take away from these meetings. If you want a clear direction of the pathway to travel this course will truly map the way!

I thoroughly recommend this course. I have signed up to other horse training courses in the past and this is by far the best of them all. I feel as though the other courses were just stepping stones to this ultimate horse training course. My horses and I have benefited so much from all that I am learning. If you put in the work you will get amazing results!

Impressions of my training
Hi, I'm Bettina Biolik
Hi there, my name is Bettina Biolik. I’m a licensed Bent Branderup Trainer and international clinician. Teaching and horses are my two big passions in life and I would like to invite you to my classroom!
My classroom is a safe learning space. For me, because I can show you more of myself and my horses, just as if you were coming over for a visit. And for you, because you can connect with like-minded people and don’t feel judged.
I welcome riders of every level and horses of all ages and breeds. Moreover, you don’t have to commit to a lengthy, expensive training program but have full cost control and receive valuable content! Stay as long as you like – any time!
If you are looking for a trainer who will explain dressage exercises to you, but who will always put the horse and its mental state first, you’ve come to the right place. As one of my students has put it: my specialty is dressage without stress. I really want to help you connect to your horse and to develop a beautiful bond with your best friend.
In the classroom, you will get to know all about biomechanics, how to do things, how to build up the training, and will teach you groundwork, work in hand, longe work, riding, and also some liberty training.
The art of riding is a life-long journey – let’s travel some time together!
Frequently Asked Questions
I’m worried I won’t have time—will I make use of it?
Yes—this isn’t designed to be “kept up with.” Choose one module or one theme and practice it for a few weeks. Even short, consistent sessions (20–30 minutes a few times a week) can create meaningful change.
Can I do this with a young horse?
Yes. The early modules (connection, basic handling, groundwork) are especially suitable for young horses and for building a calm, correct foundation without rushing.
Can I cancel or pause easily?
Yes. You can cancel or pause from inside your membership account—no need to write an email.
I prefer live training—is this still for me?
If we can’t meet regularly in person, this is the best way to learn with me in between clinics and lessons. Many members use the Classroom to build foundations at home, then bring questions to lessons, clinics, or Q&As
How complete are the modules?
The Classroom is a growing library. Some modules are more developed than others, and I add new content every month and sort it into the modules as it grows.
Where should I start?
Start with the “Start here” steps on this page. If you’re unsure, begin with Connect to your horse and Basic handling, then move into Groundwork—that foundation makes everything else easier.
I signed up to the Classroom but didn’t receive my login information.
